What do I get with the professional services that I don't get with self-service?
Both options use the same Import2 platform to move your data, so the real difference is who's doing the work and carrying the responsibility.
With a self-run migration, your team manages everything through Import2. You decide how your data should be configured, make adjustments, review the results, and start the migration yourself. It’s a good fit if your migration is relatively straightforward and you have someone who can spend the time managing it.
With the Professional Service, you hand that responsibility to an experienced Import2 migration consultant. They'll talk with you about what you need, make the setup decisions, run the migration, and handle anything unexpected along the way. You stay involved where you want to be, without having to manage the migration yourself.
How is it priced?
Every migration is different, so we price each project individually. Professional Services start at $5,000 and the final price depends on the scope of your migration, mainly how much data you're moving.
Before anything starts, we'll get to know your data and what you're trying to achieve, then give you a clear quote - so you know what to expect upfront.
How do you keep my data secure during the migration?
We take data security seriously. You'll find all the details on how we protect, handle, and process your data in our <a href="https://trust.import2.com" target="_blank">trust centre</a>.
If your team has its own security requirements or questions, just let us know. We're happy to go through them with you before the project starts.
How long does the whole process take?
First, your consultant gets to know your data and what you need, then sets everything up, which usually takes around a week. The full migration itself typically runs over a couple of days, and once it's done, we review the results with you.
Our consultants have done this many times, so they'll keep things moving, handle anything unexpected along the way, and keep you updated throughout.
What reporting do I get after the migration?
Once the migration is complete, your consultant will review the results with you and make sure everything has been moved as agreed before signing off.
You'll also get a final report showing exactly what was migrated, along with anything that wasn't and the reason why.
